Walks, parties & wellness – #littleloves

We are finally all healthy again in our house whoop whoop. It has honestly been about 5 weeks where one of us has been feeling under the weather. Which is good because work is getting busier and we’ve got lots of fun activities planned soon.

I’m taking on a new role at work that has meant I’ve been reading a lot of insurance policy documents these last few weeks. Not the most interesting of thing to read!

Darcey loves books and I ordered a set of 6 Usbourne lift the flap books for her. They were on offer on Groupon last week for only £15. She loves exploring the flaps, she’s not that interested in the story at the moment.

Death in Paradise has finished this week so I’m going to need to find something else to watch on a Thursday night.

I’ve been catching up on the newest season of Murdoch Mysteries on Alibi Channel. To be honest I love most of the programmes on the Alibi channel and if the kids aren’t around it’s nice to have it on in the background.

Will got this Meccano Micronoid from Father Christmas. He has finally got round to making it this weekend because he wanted to take it to the Winchester Science museum on Tuesday. We knew it would take a while to build which is why we haven’t done it any sooner. Will in 9 1/2 and he did need some help holding the pieces together but he did most of it by himself.

Hubby has also made us a very nice banana cake today which I’m looking forward to eating.

Last weekend we went to Mottisfont House and Gardens in Romsey. We have a National Trust membership and it’s so nice to go and explore near where we live. It’s about a 40 minute drive away and the kids loved walking around the Gardens and exploring.

It’s quite close to Southampton as well so afterwards we did a quick visit to West Quay for mummy to do some shopping. We got an early dinner and when we came out they had a festival of light show on.

And Lastly

Ben’s birthday was in November however he wanted a football party with a few classmates. This weekend was the first available date at AFC Bournemouth for them to have their party. The boys had a great time, they got a tour of the ground, a game of football on the training pitch and some hot food. It was a fantastic party and really well organised by the staff.

Straight afterwards we had to head over to our friends daughters swimming party. The boys had a great time here as well climbing on an inflatable in the swimming pool.

Needless to say they were fast asleep by 7:30 after all the excitement.

My in laws live in your part of the country and I love popping into West Quay for a shop when we visit. It’s a great shopping centre.
Loving the Meccano model, very impressive! I should get a set for my 9 year old, I think she’d really enjoy putting one together.
Reading about your National Trust visit has reminded me that we were talking about becoming members, we really must get on with it, there are so many great places to visit aren’t there? x

It was great fun. It’s just a shame they don’t do it for adults!

It sounds like you have had a lovely week. I am so glad that you are all feeling better. This time of year is horrible as there are so many germs flying around. We visited Mottisfont House and Gardens last year. It is beautiful. Hugs Lucy xxxx

Glad to hear that everyone is feeling a little better! Those gardens are gorgeous, how much is a national trust card?

We pay £8 a month for our membership but it’s a bit cheaper without kids on it. You don’t notice the cost when it comes out monthly. x
