We’ve been so excited about coming to Center Parcs. We usually come the first week in January but as Darcey was due in January we decided to move the holiday back until this week. It’s always great fun to come to Center Parcs and this time it’s not only us but 3 other families so the boys have lots of friends to play with.
We like to arrive as close to 10am as possible as this is when you’re allowed in to use the facilities. We headed straight to the Sub tropical swimming pool to make the most of our first day. The boys love going down the rapids and because it’s not great for my back, hubby has to try and keep up with them. You’ll usually find me relaxing in the hot tub whilst they are all going up and down the rapids.
This time is different as we now have an 11 week old baby with us. Before we got here I was really worried about how she’d get on in the pool and also how I would manage with her. As I can’t lift her and a bag or car seat I was worried how I’d even get in and out of the pool. I rang Center Parcs in advance and spoke to one of the swimming pool managers to ask for some advice. They were fantastic and have allowed me to take the pram onto the pool side so I don’t have to hurt my back by lifting everything we need and trying to juggle the baby whilst getting changed etc. When we got to the pool today the duty manager knew who I was and couldn’t have been more helpful, what fantastic customer service.
Darcey was great in the pool and although I was worried she’d be too cold and would only manage a few minutes she managed to stay in for half an hour. She had her Konfidence Babywarma on and this really made a difference to keeping her warm.
After a couple of hours swimming we went to Hucks restaurant for lunch. They do a great kids buffet and the adult meals were fantastic, we were all throughly stuffed at the end, so much so we haven’t needed dinner.
By this time it was 3pm and we were allowed to get the car and go into the villa. We’re staying close to the Plaza which we prefer as the kids love swimming so much. I walked to the villa with the kids while hubby got the car and unpacked everything. In no time at all we were all set up and everything is away.
The boys wanted to have a little scooter down to the Jardin des Sports before it got too dark. It was nice to get some fresh air before bed. Now we are sat here watching the log fire feeling very relaxed and looking forward to having some more fun tomorrow.
