How the little bean has developed;
- I now weigh as much as a coconut
- I’m 41.1 cm long and I weigh 3.31lbs
- I’m putting on lots of fat to fill out my wrinkly skin and make cute little chubby cheeks for you to coo over
- I spend 30-40% of the time practising breathing to help my lungs work when I’m born
- I can now turn my head from side to side
I’ve had a good last week with things starting to settle down. Baby has been moving lots and I often saying ouch and trying to push her down out of my ribs! Can’t believe how strong she is and how much the kick are hurting.
The weight gain from last week has plateaued again, I think rather than putting on weight gradually I store it all up and then have a bump growth spurt every 2/3 weeks. I’m making sure I’m using lots of lovely cream on the bump to try and prevent any stretch marks, so far so good.
I’m really surprised by how breathless I’ve been feeling this last week, I’m guessing that this is because she quite high up and pressing on my diaphragm. It’s not like I’m even doing anything strenuous though.
Day to Day life
So proud of Will for getting man of the match for the first time in his weekend football games 🙂
Last weekend we picked up a new sofa for the extension which was exciting. We have nowhere to put it yet so is being stored at my inlaws until we’re ready for it. I’ve been picking out fabric samples and carpets which has been quite fun. I’m worried it’s all going to be a bit plain so trying to inject some colour into the room. I’ve also been buying the first few baby bits which you can see in my post here.
We also went to Ikea and got the baby furniture so that’s ready to be built as soon as the carpet is down in the babies room. I found some beautiful fabric in John Lewis and my wonderful and multi-talented mum is making a cot bumper and using it to accessorise the nursery.
The floor is now down in the extension and half the plasterboard is up. Next week the kitchen is arriving and I’m going to be so excited to have a kitchen again and actually wash up in a sink. Things are really starting to come together.
Baby is still staying pretty high up which is great news for my pelvis, just dealing with a bit of pain in my ribs but that’s more then manageable. I know the baby has a lot of growing still to do and can’t imagine how she’s going to find the space to do this, my bump is going to be huge.
I’m finding it harder to sleep now, what with trying to get comfortable, of course she starts moving and dancing as soon as I lie down, so I’m worried I’m going to have a nocturnal child. Also this last week I’ve needed to get up to go to the loo at least 3 times a night, still I guess it’s preparing me for the broken sleep that I’m going to have when she arrives.
