And the baby shopping has commenced…
Now that I’m in the third trimester and the house is kind of getting there with all the building work, I’ve decided it’s time to start purchasing my first few baby bits. I’ve been desperate to start buying things and getting organised but with nowhere to put anything I’ve had to listen to the sensible and rational side of my brain!
My lovely mummy took me to Southampton and we started looking for the baby bits I need, here are a few things that I managed to pick up.
Pacapod Napier changing bag
I have been lusting after this since I first found out that I was pregnant. I love the design of this bag, it will clip onto the handle of the pram with special clips. I think the removable changing and feeding pods are great, so I won’t have to take everything with me to sort out the baby when we are out and about, also everything has a place meaning it’s easy to find things. The material is hardwearing and will be easy to clean which is a must have, also hubby was pleased with the design and the fact it wasn’t too girly for him to carry.

Mamas and Papas acqua bambino baby bath
I picked this bath because I thought it would be a lot easier to use with my bad back. Our bath is quite deep and I think that I might struggle to bend over to bath the baby, with this bath I can put it on the floor of the walk in shower in our ensuite. It has a moulded area to support the newborn which will help when they are all wet and wriggly. As the baby gets older I can then move her to the other end of the bath and there is a moulded part to fit in between her legs to stop her slipping down.

Aden and Anais swaddling blankets
How beautiful are these swaddling blankets? I love the design and the softness of the fabric, they are also so versatile. Whilst I intend to use them for swaddling when she is little they can also be used as a cover up when breast feeding or folded and used as a cover for the floor before I put her down. These are the reasons I gave my husband why I absolutely must have them!

Now that I’m on baby number 3 the thought of going through the whole cotton wool and water debacle to change their nappies when they are new born fills me with dread. I think I did this religiously for about a month with the first born, maybe 10 days with the second and well this time I’m looking for another alternative. A friend recommended these wipes that have been approved for use on newborn skin and by Allergy UK. This will be much easier than filling up the bowl with tepid water and finding cotton wool in the middle of the night whilst trying not to wake up the rest of the house. I ordered these in a box of 12 from Amazon so that should last me approx 2 weeks with a newborn!

Tommee Tippee Electric Steam Steriliser
I had one of these when the boys were little and thought it was great, it worked perfectly for 2 ½ years and is a good quality product. I’d like to breastfeed with this baby but know that I will need a steriliser if I intend to use a breast pump. Equally if the breastfeeding doesn’t work then I have a steriliser and a few bottles in the house. I bought this from Amazon when they were having an offer on so managed to get it at a good price and I know that it’s going to be a well used product.
