Back Pregnancy Reviews

Must have pregnancy pillow review

I’ve been really excited about writing this review and have been testing out the Original U-Shaped Pregnancy Pillow from PregnancyPillows.net for the last 2 weeks. I was looking forward to receiving this as my phsyio had recommended early on I should get a maternity pillow to help with my back and pelvis when I was sleeping. Originally I had sent my husband out to a well known high street store and he had purchased a mid priced pillow for me. After 2 weeks use this pillow was already falling apart and the stuffing in the middle had come apart giving me no support at all. When the team at pregnancy pillows asked me to review this product I jumped at the chance.
About the product

You will receive the pillow and a free extra soft machine washable pillow case that is available in 7 lovely colours.

There is a lavender-coated inner fabric which helps promote good sleep.

The pillow is made of Sensifil™ anti-allergenic filling which is fantastic if you suffer from any allergies.

First impressions

When it was first delivered I was surprised by how big it was and worried my husband was going to get pushed right to the edge of the bed! We have a kingsize bed and as you can see it actually fits fine on my side.

It’s fantastic quality, a really sturdy pillow without being too hard and it’s nice and springy.

The fabric for the pillowcase is supper soft and it’s almost like cuddling a teddy bear! I was worried this might be too hot as it goes all the way around the body.

What’s it really like have a look at my video below;

As I said I’ve been using this for 2 weeks now and it is fantastic.

It was a bit strange at first not using my normal pillow under my head. The original u-shaped pregnancy pillow is a lot thicker than my usual pillow so it did take about a week to get my neck used to sleeping on this. However I think whenever you change your pillows it takes a bit of getting used too.

The design is great, the fact that you have support on both sides of your body makes a real difference.

I was worried that I was going to be really hot as this pillow does go all the way around the body, it’s hard enough controlling my core temperature with all the extra hormones going on. This was not the case at all I haven’t had any problems with feeling too hot whilst using this pillow, in fact if anything my body temperature has been really well regulated.

The super soft pillowcase is amazing it’s so soft and snugly and it is like cuddling a teddy bear all night long. Also ladies you don’t have to worry about the state of your hair in the morning, I’ve found that sleeping on some fabrics I can wake up looking like medusa! Not the case with this fabric at all, when I wake up my hair is no different than sleeping on a normal cotton pillow case.

The pillowcase has the zip at the top so it is out of the way and won’t get caught in your hair or scratch you anywhere when using it. I have removed and washed the pillowcase and it came up beautifully, it was difficult getting it back onto the pillow but I’m sure with a bit of practice next time won’t be so difficult.

I would definitely recommend the original U-shaped pregnancy pillow, it has made a big difference to the quality of my sleep. It is great not only for pregnancy but for anyone who has a back or hip condition and would benefit from the extra support at night. I was sent this pillow to review. All the views and opinions are my own and have not been influenced in any way.

A pregnancy pillow was a lifesaver for me, especially near the end of pregnancy. We still use it now for feeding. Thanks for linking up with #TriedTested

Wow this sounds great. At the moment I am using a V-shaped pillow and every time I turn over in the night (which feels like a lot!) I have to turn the pillow over to put under my bump, which wakes me up. One that goes right around sounds just what I need! x

I never used a pregnancy pillow, but I did take to sleeping in a reclining sofa seat when the twins started to feel really heavy. Thanks for linking with #TwinklyTuesday.

I adored my maternity pillow. My partner felt a little bit replaced but oh my I wouldn’t have gotten through the last few months of pregnancy without it. It was the only thing that would help me sleep. They are brilliant. xx #thelist

Looks so cozy. I had one and I loved it. My only criticism of it would be that it took me a long time to get myself arranged, which happened every time I had to get up to pee. By the end this was every couple of hours 🙂

Sounds like a great pillow, anything that helps is a great big thumbs up in my boat! I had so much trouble and tried several pillows while pregnant, so if this helps, stick with it 🙂

Argh, that looks huge!! I never needed one for either of my pregnancies, but I am glad it is working for you. It’s awful being uncomfortable and in pain, so I am really pleased it’s working for you. Congratulations on your pregnancy. x
